  15.             Great disk magazine, and I agree with your points on Amiga
  16. Shopper, I think it is very sad to see the magazine dead.  I also
  17. agree with Stephen Cawsers comments last issue about the Amiga being
  18. the worlds best kept secret, and Viscorp really do need to get the
  19. Amiga`s marketing right.  On your challenge to find the old Amiga
  20. Lorraine, a bit of a mission impossible, but good luck!

  22. I would like to say that while other mags have gone down the drain and
  23. reduced very much, your disks are going from strength to strength,
  24. and the new addition of the extra disk and the newly formed news letter
  25. just goes to prove that we are all FIRMLY attached to the Amiga.

  32.    Sorry to hear that you are not going to take my comments on
  33. board about CDs.  I understand that it would be impossible to produce
  34. a CD every two months, and the cost would be immense when you don`t
  35. get payed for this, or do you?  Anyway, what about possibly just
  36. 2 CDs a year?

  46.             Just a few comments about the magazine.  I think that
  47. Page is a very good magazine, and I must say that it really is
  48. THE BEST magazine I have ever read, and I mean EVER.  Not just
  49. disk magazines, I know only know of two magazines that are better
  50. than Page and they Are CU Amiga and Amiga Format, both of which are
  51. owned by big companies, and they carry cover CDs/Disks with full
  52. commercial programs and have lots of pages in the mags, and are in
  53. full colour, but your magazine beats ---other mags - DAN---
  54. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  59. It is good to hear that we have had nothing but good comments about
  60. the magazine from our readers all over the country, although still
  61. the large majority are up here, there are a few spread around the
  62. counrty.  It is a bit sad to see a few Amiga mags close, but hopefully
  63. if we get back on our feet soon enough, things will change.

  121.          I have heard all the hype about the game School Yard Slaughter,
  122. where it involved the player shooting little children in the play
  123. ground, they are digitsed kids, and I really do not see the problem.
  124. After all it is JUST computer game, it is not like this is going to
  125. happen in real life!  GET A LIFE!

  130. This game was only a PD game any way, so it is not banned from sale
  131. really it is still available from some PD dealers.  People won't copy
  132. it?  Stranger things have happened.  It was a bit distasteful with
  133. recent events though.  I'm not sad to see it go.

  137.          We need to let game publishers know that the majority
  138. of Amiga owners are no longer the 1M A500 crew.  Most people
  139. have at least WB2 and 2 drives.  The least 80% have is 2Megs.
  140. When they realise this, maybe more games will come out?  Also
  141. I am really annoyed to read that Amiga shopper will be no more
  142. as from the Jan 97 issue.  I am disgusted that this magazine
  143. was saying only in the DEC issue that Pages may increase when
  144. sales go up.  They can't now that it has been shut.  I feel very
  145. let down by Future Publishing, and I personally will never buy
  146. any of their magazines again.  I remember at the time of the CBM
  147. bankruptcy Amiga Shopper printed:

  149. "Just because Commodore is gone doesn't meant that the Amiga is dead,
  150. when we stop printing, then it will be the end of the Amiga".

  152. Sad words.  I'm off to check out the new Apple prices, I hear they
  153. are pretty reasonable.  Good luck to your disk mag, and your
  154. remaining readers.  I hope the Amiga gets well soon, although it
  155. is getting more and more unlikely.  Good bye Amiga!

  160. Possibly.  I have had my 500 for years, sice about 1986 I think.
  161. It has 3 Megs, an A590 (40M :( ) and runs Workbench 1.2.  Still a good
  162. machine but not really up to todays standards.  My sister is REALLY
  163. bugging me for it... I mean REALLY like every 5 mins, and trying
  164. to be really nice (which doesn`t seem like her), so I know as soon
  165. as she gets it things will all be back to normal.  She has a Playstation
  166. and wants the 500 to do her homework on using Wordworth 2, and Dpaint4.
  167. I don`t know if I should however.  If the people vote yes then she shall
  168. have it, if not then I am clinging on... I currently have
  169.  
  170. A600, A500, A500+, and an A3000T (GREAT MACHINE).

  183. I think the publishers are starting to realise this.  You may say
  184. how many people are currently making Amiga games, but the ones
  185. that are currently being made are not usually made for unexpanded A500s.

  187. As for Amiga Shopper, it is very sad to see it go.  I am going to
  188. stick with the Amiga right up until the bitter end, us Amiga owners
  189. are not going to die easily, were going down kicking and screaming.
  190. Although our once massive community is now in shambles we have a
  191. 50/50 chance of pulling through.  Technology like our own doesn't
  192. just die quietly.  We will keep on making Page while we have the readers
  193. that we have.  Although we are well away from the heady days of
  194. hundreds of direct members.  If we are dead, then let's hope that at
  195. least the chips get put into the Set Top boxes.  Let's hope VisCORP
  196. get through soon, while it is still worth it.
