-
- Welcome to another Page of your views. I am sure that you people have
- more to say. Come on get writing now:

-
- Dear Daniel,
- Great disk magazine, and I agree with your points on Amiga
- Shopper, I think it is very sad to see the magazine dead. I also
- agree with Stephen Cawsers comments last issue about the Amiga being
- the worlds best kept secret, and Viscorp really do need to get the
- Amiga`s marketing right. On your challenge to find the old Amiga
- Lorraine, a bit of a mission impossible, but good luck!
-
- I would like to say that while other mags have gone down the drain and
- reduced very much, your disks are going from strength to strength,
- and the new addition of the extra disk and the newly formed news letter
- just goes to prove that we are all FIRMLY attached to the Amiga.
- MITCH RENOYLDS, Middlesbrough
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Dan,
-
- Sorry to hear that you are not going to take my comments on
- board about CDs. I understand that it would be impossible to produce
- a CD every two months, and the cost would be immense when you don`t
- get payed for this, or do you? Anyway, what about possibly just
- 2 CDs a year?
- ANDREA BRAY, Middlesbrough
-
- Dan says...
-
- No I don`t get payed for this. Read my fingers, NO CD!!
-
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Dear Page,
- Just a few comments about the magazine. I think that
- Page is a very good magazine, and I must say that it really is
- THE BEST magazine I have ever read, and I mean EVER. Not just
- disk magazines, I know only know of two magazines that are better
- than Page and they Are CU Amiga and Amiga Format, both of which are
- owned by big companies, and they carry cover CDs/Disks with full
- commercial programs and have lots of pages in the mags, and are in
- full colour, but your magazine beats ---other mags - DAN---
- KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
- SEAN BAY, Sunderland
-
- Dan says....
-
- It is good to hear that we have had nothing but good comments about
- the magazine from our readers all over the country, although still
- the large majority are up here, there are a few spread around the
- counrty. It is a bit sad to see a few Amiga mags close, but hopefully
- if we get back on our feet soon enough, things will change.
-
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Oy ED!
-
- I wrote to you last disk and you were right rude to us! So I `ave
- more questions for ya! and NAD is my real name:
-
- 1) Are you fat
-
- 2) Are you Feathered
-
- 3) Are you Furry?
-
- 4) Are you still wearing the red socks?
-
- 5) Why do you like Jackets and rice?
-
- 6) You are a lazy git, getting up at 12 noon.
-
- 7) Will you give your dog a kick from me?
-
- 8) I have used the raddish, and now would you like to borrow it?
-
- 9) Describe your self!
-
- U.B. NAD, Gateshead
-
- Dan says....
-
- Ok NADDERS! More crap questions from you, you really are becoming
- a pain in the arse!
-
- 1) No
-
- 2) No
-
- 3) No
-
- 4) No
-
- 5) I just do
-
- 6) This is not a question, and I`m not I don`t go to bed till 3 AM.
-
- 7) No (Why would I kick my doggy?)
-
- 8) No.
-
- 9) Can't be arsed.
-
- I know what you did with the raddish! You STRANGE man, if indeed you
- are a man!
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Dear Page,
- I have heard all the hype about the game School Yard Slaughter,
- where it involved the player shooting little children in the play
- ground, they are digitsed kids, and I really do not see the problem.
- After all it is JUST computer game, it is not like this is going to
- happen in real life! GET A LIFE!
- ANDREW BENTLY, Norton
-
- Dan says...
-
- This game was only a PD game any way, so it is not banned from sale
- really it is still available from some PD dealers. People won't copy
- it? Stranger things have happened. It was a bit distasteful with
- recent events though. I'm not sad to see it go.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Dear Dan,
- We need to let game publishers know that the majority
- of Amiga owners are no longer the 1M A500 crew. Most people
- have at least WB2 and 2 drives. The least 80% have is 2Megs.
- When they realise this, maybe more games will come out? Also
- I am really annoyed to read that Amiga shopper will be no more
- as from the Jan 97 issue. I am disgusted that this magazine
- was saying only in the DEC issue that Pages may increase when
- sales go up. They can't now that it has been shut. I feel very
- let down by Future Publishing, and I personally will never buy
- any of their magazines again. I remember at the time of the CBM
- bankruptcy Amiga Shopper printed:
-
- "Just because Commodore is gone doesn't meant that the Amiga is dead,
- when we stop printing, then it will be the end of the Amiga".
-
- Sad words. I'm off to check out the new Apple prices, I hear they
- are pretty reasonable. Good luck to your disk mag, and your
- remaining readers. I hope the Amiga gets well soon, although it
- is getting more and more unlikely. Good bye Amiga!
- PHIL RADLEY, Hemlington
-
- Dan says...
-
- Possibly. I have had my 500 for years, sice about 1986 I think.
- It has 3 Megs, an A590 (40M :( ) and runs Workbench 1.2. Still a good
- machine but not really up to todays standards. My sister is REALLY
- bugging me for it... I mean REALLY like every 5 mins, and trying
- to be really nice (which doesn`t seem like her), so I know as soon
- as she gets it things will all be back to normal. She has a Playstation
- and wants the 500 to do her homework on using Wordworth 2, and Dpaint4.
- I don`t know if I should however. If the people vote yes then she shall
- have it, if not then I am clinging on... I currently have
-
- A600, A500, A500+, and an A3000T (GREAT MACHINE).
-
- I know I`ll get called a stingy bugger for not just handing it over,
- but it is for sentimental reasons you know?! Or am I just a mean
- git? OK... Debbie wants to type a bit:
-
- he is a just a selfish git
-
- Thanks Deb, that has dampered her chances, calling me a selfish git then
- asking for my pride A500, not a wise move girlie!
-
- OK... vote `no' and you all get a free issue .. Ahem ! AHEM! (Just kidding).
- The blonde scrounger has gone now. Anyway, good points Phil.
- I think the publishers are starting to realise this. You may say
- how many people are currently making Amiga games, but the ones
- that are currently being made are not usually made for unexpanded A500s.
-
- As for Amiga Shopper, it is very sad to see it go. I am going to
- stick with the Amiga right up until the bitter end, us Amiga owners
- are not going to die easily, were going down kicking and screaming.
- Although our once massive community is now in shambles we have a
- 50/50 chance of pulling through. Technology like our own doesn't
- just die quietly. We will keep on making Page while we have the readers
- that we have. Although we are well away from the heady days of
- hundreds of direct members. If we are dead, then let's hope that at
- least the chips get put into the Set Top boxes. Let's hope VisCORP
- get through soon, while it is still worth it.
-
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Thank you to everyone who wrote in this issue, and we will see
- you all next year. Have a nice XMAS and get those letters coming in
- quickly for Jan issue of Page, released on the 10th JANUARY! Not
- in two months as it is normally, but the 10th of Jan 1997 due
- to a nice XMas prezzie. To get those letters sent off QUICK!
